This is the exhaust pipe that is
used to connect the 4 inch riser to the
Y-Pipe on the MerCruiser V6
sterndrive.  
     It is included in the kit to convert
the 1-piece V6 manifold to the easily
available 2-piece manifold and riser.  
     It is also used to convert  the early
V6 engines (that used the restrictive 3
inch risers) to the better performing 4
inch risers.  
     It is 4 inches in diameter at the top
to match a 4 inch riser.  It is oval
shaped at the bottom to match the
oval inlet of the 1983 and newer
Y-pipes.

The three inch riser (left) used on some V6 and V8 Mercruiser engines between 1983
and 1996 is very restrictive to exhaust flow.  Replacing the three inch riser with the
four inch riser (right) will increase fuel economy and horsepower. A kit that includes 2
new four inch risers, 2 new four inch exhaust pipes, 2 new four inch rubber bellows
and eight stainless steel four inch hose clamps is available from Moore Performance.
